Avatrombopag dosage is based on platelet count.  If < 40 x 10⁹/L, dose is 60 mg daily.  If 40 to < 50 x 10⁹/L, dose is 40 mg daily.  Treatment should be for 5 days starting 10 to 13 days before the planned procedure.

If platelet count on the day of the procedure remains < 40 x 10⁹/L (< 10 x 10⁹/L for line removal) then transfusion should be considered.
